Easy Coconut Deodorant

I have tried many natural deodorants and have not had luck with any of them. One of them made me sweat MORE, one of them stained all of my clothes and one of them made my pit odour even worse. I was determined to find something at worked and was all natural. This one is a life changer! I can make it at home in under 5 minutes and it cost be maybe $0.50 to make. I have it in an old Lush container but it it sturdy enough that you could probably put it in an old deodorant stick and just don’t keep it in the car or somewhere it will melt. I do like the container so I can just dip my fingers in and scoop a little out to run in my underarms, I just feel I have more control of the amount that way. But whatever suits your convenience is fine!

I also did an armpit detox before I made this, because I felt like my pits were consistently more smelly. I just combined 1 tbsp bentonite clay with 1 tsp apple cider vinegar and about 1 tsp distilled water until it was a soft creamy consistency. Make sure not to use anything metal in this process as the metal will alter the charge of the bentonite clay and decrease the detox benefits. Slap some on you pits and let it sit for 5-20 minutes. This is perfect to do at home during playoff season since your arms will already be up in the air to cheer your team on.. jk.

The essential oils I chose are also great to neutralize scent and have antibacterial properties to combat those nasty microbes that make the stink when mixed with your sweat. Pine is antibacterial, calming and easy on the skin which is great for sensitive skin and in the pit area where there can be lots of heat and movement to create irritation. The purification contains citronella, rosemary, lemongrass, tea tree, lavindin and myrtle oils which neutralize stink and have anti-micbrobial properties. You can add whatever oils you prefer though or ones you have on hand, just be careful with spicier oils like clove and mint as the may leave a little tingle upon application but they both smell delicious!!
